80% of the world’s evangelical Christians live in Asia, Africa, and Latin America. Over the last 50 years, God’s church has grown exponentially in these areas.

These regions have tremendous mission sending potential to help bring the gospel to unreached peoples, but they currently send only 20% of the world’s cross-cultural missionaries!

&ldquo;Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.&rdquo; (Romans 12:12)
The Bible teaches us to be faithful and persistent in prayer for all people and in all situations. Often, our prayers for people who do not know about Jesus are not answered immediately, especially when we pray for unreached people groups living in places where the gospel has not been heard yet. But sometimes, we get a glimpse of what God is doing. Here are a few of these glimpses to encourage you and your family to keep praying.&nbsp;
Openness through prayer
&ldquo;Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.&rdquo; (<a href="https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Mark%2011%3A24&amp;version=NIV">Mark 11:24</a>)
In 2024, a group of 30 children from a squatter camp in South Africa came to the library project as usual. Initiated by a local lady to bring hope to the children in that area, this project meets in a small room made of corrugated metal sheets and filled with colors and books. Many of the children come from disadvantaged backgrounds and struggle in school. They come to the library to get reading help and learn more about the hope they can find in Christ.
Today would be different than usual. A guest speaker told the children about the Global Day of Children and Families Praying for the Unreached People Groups. She shared about an unreached people group in Central Asia and invited the children to pray for them, as well as for a special event happening there&mdash;a youth sports camp where participants would hear about Christ. Amazingly, there were also 30 youths attending the camp.
For many children at the library project, this was their first time to pray out loud. The guest speaker shared how God hears and answers our prayers but had no idea their prayers would be answered so quickly&hellip; The next day she received a message from Central Asia saying: &ldquo;Something amazing happened. Many of the youth were not feeling well yesterday. But now they are doing Bible study and are open to hearing more about Christ.&rdquo;&nbsp;
Transformation through prayer
&ldquo;I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession, and thanksgiving be made for all people.&rdquo; (<a href="https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1%20Timothy%202%3A1&amp;version=NIV">1 Timothy 2:1</a>)
A group of children in Zambia learned about the Androy people group in Madagascar. They heard how young boys are taught and challenged to steal a cow to prove their manhood within the tribe. Afterward, the group interceded for the Androy people, praying that they would learn about God and that the cow-stealing tradition would change to something that would honor God.&nbsp;
A few months later, two children from this group accompanied their leader and her family to a mission conference. As the speaker on stage started sharing his testimony, the children&rsquo;s eyes opened wide and they started whispering to each other. The man shared how he had learned to steal cows as a child, but once he came to faith in Jesus, he found that this was not a good practice. He began teaching the local children to stop stealing cows and instead follow Christ boldly. Smiling at their leader, the two children asked, &ldquo;Is this the tribe we prayed for?&rdquo; &ldquo;Yes,&rdquo; said their leader excitedly.&nbsp;
Once the two children returned home, they were excited to share with their group about seeing people from many countries they had prayed for, and how God had answered their prayers for the tribe in Madagascar. The children were amazed at the power of God and the significance of their prayers for unreached people in the world.
Keep praying!
Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. (Matthew 7:7)
A group of children in the Androy tribe who had recently learned about God were encouraged to read their Bible and pray. So, when they heard about a lady in the community who was not feeling well, they decided to follow Jesus&rsquo; example and prayed for her. The lady was not healed instantly, so the children returned to pray for her the next day, the day after that, and so on. After some time, the lady was healed. She was so touched by the persistence of the children&rsquo;s prayers and faith that she decided to give her life to Jesus.&nbsp;
Never stop praying. (1 Thessalonians 5:17)
I hope these stories encourage your family to be faithful in praying for people near and far who have not yet heard the gospel. As a family, you could choose to pray for a specific people group, country, or ministry working among the unreached people, or intercede for different people groups around the world. I pray that one day you will see a glimpse of how God is moving through your prayers.&nbsp;
